Recently, actress Natalie Portman spoke about her post-baby style, saying:
“I’ve been trying to look more like a lady.”
Natalie, who is mom to 10-month-old son Aleph, told Women’s Wear Daily,
“I used to be happy in a T-shirt and sweatpants, and now I feel like I want to make myself a little more grown-up – now that I’m a mom.”
And Beyonce told the Daily Mail about her changed shoe choices:
“I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn’t wear heels. Now that I have a child, I walk around holding her all day, so I’m buying loafers and oxfords. I love them, because they’re comfortable, and shorter heels too.”
Me? My pre-baby wardrobe could be summed up in three words: dry clean only. Now, I’m wearing clothes that can withstand a full-strength wash cycle, and probable tumble-dry that will still look presentable as I’ve been officially diagnosed as iron-a-phobic. And interestingly, I’m more comfortable with my sense of style than ever before.*
How has your style changed since you became a mum? What do you love? What do you miss?
